Description:
The Wenglor YH03PCT8 particle counter counts the passage of particles by measuring the attenuation of transmitted laser beam on one side of the instrument fork in the receiver on the other side of the fork. When the received signal drops below 90% of the full transmission value for the sensor, the instrument sends an electrical pulse, which can be counted by a datalogger. In this way, one can construct a high-frequency timeseries of aeolian saltation flux.
