A system for automation of an experimental sedimentology basin at Tulane University

Experimental sedimentology can provide valuable data for investigating long time scale geological processes, but experiments are labor intensive and require close monitoring. For experiments that take place over hundreds of hours and run continuously, the monitoring requires a grueling schedule, especially when combined with all of the other responsibilities of a graduate student. The automation system relieves the graduate student of the need to spend excessive amounts of time monitoring an experiment.
